YES!

Oh man ... finally! We've been here for about 2.5 weeks and I FINALLY have the opportunity to set up a blog. Honestly, I'm not the bloggie type, I don't think. I mean, I enjoy writing but there's something about knowing that there will be (or at least that there's the potential for) some kind of audience that gives me pause. Most of you know that I have a rambling problem when it comes to writing, so I just have to assume that you all will skip over the dull stuff and love me anyway. Remember, it was YOU people who said you wanted me to do this, so the creation of this monster is on your heads!



So ... Friday evening. Happy 4th of July, America!! We had a quiet day. Went and got me another rental car and did some shopping at our local example of what would be Wal-Mart. Van bought a waffle iron today. Just to show where our priorities lie at the moment. But, certainly no fireworks or outside grills. I think there are enough Americans living here to have put together a cool day of celebration (even here in our little complex of 15 villas I met a neighbor across the drive from HOUSTON!), but most folks head out during the summer so there's basically us and a few working stiff husbands and that's about it in July.



This first post is basically just to try out this blog site and get my feelers for it. It's 6:00pm here (we're 8 hours ahead of Central Time) and my kiddos haven't had dinner yet. The maid is off today, so it's up to their parents, of all people, to find something to push down their gullets. Does the horror EVER end?! But, I'll be back periodically with all kinds of posts and pictures and cool things for y'all to do and know. I'll just be one-stop-shopping for all your entertainment needs!
