Perspective ...

Here's the deal. I may have been over-sensitive about the price of entertaining the kiddos. Sure, it's not cheap to take them out and let them play at the various monkey-run places, but I am realizing that there are things that offset all that.

Like gas prices, for instance! Yesterday morning I filled up the rental car and it cost a whopping $8. Filled it UP! As in, E to F ... on $8. And THEN I drove all around the island for 2 hours scoping things out and sight seeing, and it's STILL touching F. Really can't beat that! At home, I would fill up for nearly $60 and then have to go back in 3-ish days and do it again.

And the good for you food is cheaper here, too ... the fresh whole grain bakery bread, the produce, fresh dairy. Of course, the processed mess that we all love like Kraft Macarroni and Cheese and Prego Spaghetti sauce is pricey. Not a bad time to look at better eating habits!

So, it all works out in the wash ... to my advantage, actually. It's an exchange that puts us in the black. NICE!

When I start rambling about the high cost of this or that, someone smack me and remind me that we're really doing okay ... even better, actually, than at home.
